The Gespe’gewaq Mi’gmaq Resource Council held their annual salmon feast at the Aborginal Heritage Gardens in Eel River Bar on June 21, 2016. This was the first year that the feast was held somewhere other than the GMRC offices in Listuguj. With all the help from volunteers and the generous donations of the salmon fishermen, this year’s feast was one of the best.
We’d like to say thank you to the community of Eel River Bar for hosting our event. And thank you to all the volunteers, guest speakers, and the Listuguj Science Team for doing a demonstration about the different parts of the salmon anatomy. We look forward to next year!
