On June 13th GMRC held it’s annual fish friends release. This year students from Terry Fox Elementary, Alaqsitew Gitpu School, Listuguj Mi’gmaq Immersion and LER school gathered together at the Eel River to release salmon fry.
Students from these schools raised these salmon from eyed eggs. GMRC would like to thank Village of Eel River Crossing for their hospitality, Subway in Listuguj for donating 2 trays of subs and Eel River Bar scientific team for assisting us. We would also like to thank the school and students for doing a wonderful job caring for the young salmon. A big thank you also goes out to Roland LaVallee for volunteering his time and efforts with the fish friends program.
