On Tuesday, March 18th the Gespe’gewaq Mi’gmaq Resource Council (GMRC) held an information session at the Eel River Bar Band Office. It was a great turnout with nearly 30 people in attendance. Our information sessions were designed to share information on the research and projects we have been conducting during the past year. We also receive feedback from community members on the initiatives underway at GMRC. Last week, GMRC was set up at the elders lodge in Listuguj with our battery recycling box. We received one box full of batteries to be recycled from Listuguj and community members are continuing to bring batteries to our office. Thank you for helping us keep those batteries out of the landfills. On March 20th, we will be set up at the band office in Pabineau at the band office. We encourage Pabineau Community members to stop by the band office tomorrow and meet with our staff and share information. Stop by with any batteries/cell phones to be recycled and we will enter your name in for a draw.
