General responsibilities
The Project Field Assistant will be responsible for providing hands-on technical assistance to the scientific research team and administrative support to the Aquatic Research Director and Aquatic Research Technician. The main activities include: beach seine netting various areas in the Restigouche River estuary, conducting species (e.g. fish, plants, invertebrates) monitoring, conducting habitat assessment, perform physical water quality measurements, calibrate field equipment, and carry and clean/sanitize research equipment (e.g. samplers, nets, waders).
Job location
Research will mainly be conducted on Restigouche River watershed, with the possibility of travel to other sites including the Chaleur Bay, Eel River and Nepisiguit River watersheds.
